What Bartyrr is
Bartyrr is a venue where members list goods and agree to exchange them with each other. No money changes hands on the platform, we never take possession of anyone’s goods, and we are not a party to any exchange. We record agreements; members carry them out.
Your account
You must be at least [16/18] years old. One account per person. You are responsible for what happens under your credentials; we are responsible for protecting them at rest. You can delete your account at any time, which withdraws your listings and cancels your open offers.
Trading
Declared values are set by owners and are opinions, not appraisals. An accepted offer is an agreement between the two members, on the terms frozen at the moment it was sent. Meet in public places, inspect everything before handing anything over, and confirm the handoff only when it has actually happened. Ratings may only be left by the two parties to a completed trade.
What you may not do
List goods you do not own or may not lawfully transfer; list prohibited items ([WEAPONS/CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES/etc. — enumerate per jurisdiction]); misrepresent condition; harass other members; attempt to move agreed trades off-platform to evade the record; probe or disrupt the service.
Content
You keep ownership of the photographs and text you post and grant us a licence to display them for the operation of the service. We strip location metadata from uploaded photographs. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent the law of [JURISDICTION] allows, we are not liable for losses arising from exchanges between members, including misrepresented goods and failed handoffs. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
